  1. Who may apply to Red Bank Charter School?
    All children who are residents of Red Bank who are entering grades K through 8.are eligible for admission

  2. How are students chosen for admission?
    A lottery is held annually for new admissions prior to January 15. Applications are accepted all year. There are no admissions criteria other than residency.

  3. How long is the school day?
    The school day at RBCS runs from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

  4. What subjects does the school teach?
    We teach the seven core curriculum areas: math, social studies, language arts, science, world language, physical education and health, art, music and performing arts.

  5. Does Red Bank Charter School offer services for students with special needs and classified students?
    Yes. RBCS is a public school, and therefore must provide services to special needs students as required by state and federal law. We have a full complement of instructional and support services as required by students IEPs. RBCS also has a fully staffed Child Study Team.

  6. Does Red Bank Charter School offer sports?
    Yes. RBCS has sports teams for both boys and girls in soccer, basketball, softball, baseball that play in the Shore Intermediate Sports Leagues, as well as cheerleading. We also have a club wrestling team.

  7. What extra-curricular activities are offered at Red Bank Charter School?
    Yes; we have clubs based upon student interests that meet weekly. Other activities include peer mediators, National Junior Honor Society, service learning and community internships.

  8. Does Red Bank Charter School comply with NCLB?
    As a public school we comply with all the mandates of NCLB, including the state assessments, instructional programs, teacher qualifications and professional development opportunities for teachers.

  9. Is the teaching staff fully qualified?
    Yes. All teachers at RBCS are well qualified professionals certified by the State of NJ. 100% of the teachers are “highly qualified” as defined by NCLB.
