Red Bank Charter School Foundation

The Red Bank Charter School Foundation was formed in June 2000 with the intent of raising awareness and financing to support the efforts of the Red Bank Charter School. The Foundation is a 501(c)3 private non-profit corporation governed with by-laws established at it's creation and modified throughout the years.

The first order of business in 2000 was to find a permanent site for the school. While the Charter School Law gave us some great tools it does not provide any facility money, so our first goal was to buy a home. Thanks to some hard work by those first Foundation members and the generosity of many community partners who believed in our dream, we raised the money and purchased 58 Oakland Street in Red Bank.

The site was of interest for a number of reasons. First of all it was built in 1920 and served the town as a public school until it was sold to a private owner in 1979 and converted into a resturant. It was several different resturants over the years and finally The Oakland Street Resaturant owned by local business women, Lisa Tevis.
